Among the key findings of the 2002 Water Recycling Task Force was the need to address the dual-plumbing of buildings to flush toilets and urinals. Among the findings in the White Paper from the Plumbing Code and Cross Connection Control Workgroup: “Portions of three California Codes have been identified as including impediments to recycled water use and are addressed in this white paper. They are the California Plumbing Code (CPC) Section 601.2.2 and 601.2.3 and Appendix J dealing with dual plumbed systems, Title 17 Section 7583 et seq. dealing with cross-connection control, and Title 22 Sections 60313-60616 dealing with recycled water dual plumbed systems. These codes pose problems because of their adoption status in some cases, inconsistencies between codes, and possibly unnecessarily restrictive requirements.” Th

IFDM present status & further research. The specific objectives of the work were (1) to collect, analyze, and evaluate published reports and unpublished data on studies, field, experiments, and demonstrations on the reuse of agricultural drainage water for irrigation in the drainage problem areas of the western San Joaquin Valley and (2) to identify and prioritize the need for additional study, research and field demonstation proposals and projects that should be implemented in the next 6 years.

SACRAMENTO – Governor Gray Davis today announced the formation and the inaugural meeting of the State Recycled Water Task Force. The blue-ribbon panel of experts recommends ways to increase California’s supply of recycled water and has set a goal to provide enough safe recycled water for the needs of up to 1.5 million Californians by 2007. "Water is without a doubt the lifeline of our State," said Governor Davis. "I formed this important Task Force to make sure that as our State’s population expands we will have a safe, reliable and adequate supply of water for all Californians."
