Jeffrey Ingles, Chief Auditor
Jeffrey Ingles was appointed the Department of Water Resources (DWR) Chief Auditor for the Internal Audits Office (IAO) on April 20, 2009. Jeffrey's primary responsibilities include managing DWR's internal audit activities. The IAO conducts independent appraisals of internal activities, financial records and controls, fraud investigation and external examination of contractors' records.
Prior to assuming his current role, Jeffrey served as an Innovative Finance Manager with the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) from February 2006 to April 2009. Jeffrey's State career began in 1997 as a Loan Officer, with the California Integrated Waste Management Board (Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery), followed by assignments as an Associate Construction Analyst with the Department of the Youth Authority (Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation), as Staff Loan Officer/Supervisor of the CLEAN Loan Program and as Chief of the Planning and Management Branch with the Department of Toxic Substances Control. Prior to State service, Jeffrey worked in the private sector for the nation's largest publicly traded managed health care company as a Senior Financial Analyst and in commercial banking as an Internal Auditor, Branch Manager, Operations Officer, and Financial/Credit Analyst.
Jeffrey has a Master of Business Administration degree (1987) from National University and a Bachelor of Arts degree (1982) from California State University, Sacramento. Jeffrey has also completed the Management Development Certificate Program (2003) from California State University, Sacramento.
