Welcome to the Environmental Water Quality and Estuarine Studies Branch of DWR’s Division of Environmental Services, Office of Water Quality and Estuarine Ecology. Our mission is to collect data on the factors that affect ecological resources in the Sacramento – San Joaquin Estuary and convert it to information for agency and public use. Our goals are to ensure compliance with the State Water Resources Control Board’s Water Rights Decision D-1641, and to detect ecological changes in the upper estuary that are related to water project operations.
